How Do I Schedule a Background Check Appointment and Retrieve My Results?

Scheduling an Appointment: 

1.      IdentoGO is the preferred vendor for the Texas Certification Board’s (TCB) FBI fingerprinting background checks. You will need to go online to schedule an FBI Background Check at IdentoGo.com.


2.      If you have completed a background check with IdentoGO in the past, you will need to call them to make your appointment. Their system will not allow you to make a new online appointment. For Texas IdentoGO appointments, you may call 877-783-4187.


3.      You will need to schedule a specific type of background check. The type you will select is Service Code 111VVQ – Retail Services FBI – Identity History Check – Personal Review.


4.      You will be asked for your ZIP code to locate the IdentoGO office closest to you. Pick your preferred IdentoGo office location, and select a date and a time that works for you.


5.      Check your email for the confirmation email with your UE ID number and appointment information. IdentoGO will send you an email from their [email protected] email address. We suggest you check your spam folder if it is not in your email inbox.

Retrieving Your Results

The receipt you receive after completing your appointment has instructions on checking your results. IdentoGO will send the results from their [email protected] email address. You will be given an option for ‘how to receive your background check secure access code.’ Once you enter that code, you should be able to review and download your criminal history report.

Important: You can only retrieve your results from a computer. It will not work if you are trying to access it from a mobile device.

Deadlines: You will have 30 days from the date you receive your criminal history report to access it. Once you access it, IdentoGO only allows 7 days for you to download your results. If you miss the deadline, you will be required to complete a new IdentoGO appointment.

Uploading Your Results to Certemy

Once you have downloaded your background check results, log in to your Certemy account and navigate to your certification application (initial or renewal). Look for the Background Check section of the application and upload your results there.
