What are the eligibility criteria for the Peer Academy Scholarship?
- Have the orientation completed and the attestation document.
- Meet the age requirement of 18 years or older
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have personal experience with mental health challenges for MHPS or substance use for RSPS
- Willing to share one’s recovery story in a suitable manner
- Able to show ongoing self-directed recovery journey
How much is the scholarship award and what does it cover?
The Peer Academy Scholarship offers flexible funding, covering either a portion or the entire cost of CORE and/or supplemental training programs. This is determined based on the specific financial needs of the recipient and at the discretion of the scholarship committee.
Is there a deadline for the scholarship application?
Peer Academy Scholarship operates on a first-come, first-served basis. While there is no set deadline, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their materials as early as possible to increase their chances of consideration.
How is the scholarship recipient selected?
The selection process for the Peer Academy Scholarship includes evaluating academic potential, demonstrated capabilities, community engagement, commitment level, caliber of the submitted essay, and a 30-minute online interview. The scholarship committee rigorously reviews each application based on these criteria. Selected applicants will be notified via email.
