Peer Academy programs for organizations

If your organization provides Peer Support services (or wants to), please reach out.  In addition to training Peers, we also employ them in a variety of Peer Support settings.  In fact, we only started training Peers because it was difficult to get training for our staff. 

We have a very good understanding of the needs of employers and of Peer Specialists because we are both.

There may be multiple ways of working together, and we're happy to explore any of those paths.  Below, we've listed just two ways in which we can work together.  Best of all, both options include stipends and support for your staff, if they are accepted into the programs.

For experienced Peers

Peer Academy Career Enhancement (PACE)

$3,500 stipend to Peer (for full program completion)
  • Our Peer Academy Career Enhancement (PACE) program includes a variety of self-paced online modules on topics such as boundaries, self-care, problem-solving, and communication. This program is by invitation only for MHPS, RSPS, or Certified Family Partners (CFPs) that are currently working as Peers in Texas, regardless of where they were initially certified or where they currently work. The program concludes in exactly 7 months when the student completes all of the learning modules.

For new Peers

Peer Apprenticeship program

$7,500 stipend to Peer (for full program completion)
  • The Peer Apprenticeship is the most rigorous program we offer. It includes all of the supports we're able to provide. It is designed to help you onboard a new Peer employee and provide them with support for 12-months. It includes all the required training for Texas Mental Health Peer Specialist (MHPS) certification, plus assessments, online learning, workshops, and more. We're trying to help build a strong Texas Peer workforce, and are here to help you be successful as an employer of Peers.
